OPENING CEREMONY HELD FOR TPC OF LOUISIANA

April 20, 2004 - The Tournament Players Club of Louisiana opening ceremony was held today with PGA TOUR Commissioner Tim Finchem, course architect Pete Dye and PGA TOUR player design consultants Steve Elkington and Kelly Gibson taking part in the festivities. The daily fee facility and future home of the PGA TOUR's HP Classic of New
Orleans will open for public play on Thursday, April 22.

"We know we have a very special facility, one that complements all that New Orleans has to offer and, for golfers, further elevates the appeal of the New Orleans experience," Finchem said. "It also should prove to be a wonderful, challenging host course for the HP Classic of New Orleans beginning next year."

The TPC of Louisiana course was designed by Dye, with design input from Elkington and Gibson, a native New Orleanian. The par-72 golf course offers five sets of tees ranging from 5,200 yards to 7,600 from the championship tees.

"This is a straight-forward golf course with no gimmicks," Dye said. "Similar to Harbour Town, we have not elevated anything substantially, so it looks like it has been here for years. A distinguishing characteristic is probably the bunkering. It's a different challenge than anything TOUR players have faced. We've built small bunkers that are strategically placed, and the banks on them are severe, so you'll get uneven lies. They present a different challenge."

According to Gibson, "As a player on the PGA TOUR, I have been blessed to playsome of the finest golf facilities around the world and I am confident to say that the TPC of Louisiana will soon be ranked among the best public facilities in the country. We are embarking on a new day in golf not only here in New Orleans, but in our state. We are now on equal footing with other Southern states with top-notch facilities. New Orleans is a world-class destination city and the TPC of Louisiana will give the millions of tourists and conventioneers one more reason to stay an extra day."

This is the fourth TPC course that Dye has designed. He was the architect for the original Tournament Players Club at Sawgrass Stadium Course, home of THE PLAYERS Championship. He also designed the TPC at River Highlands in Connecticut and the TPC of Virginia Beach. Featuring a 20,000-square foot, antebellum low country-designed clubhouse
with a large grille, men's and women's locker, lounge and wet areas, the TPC of Louisiana follows in the same quality lineage as the other 23 Clubs within the PGA TOUR's TPC Network.
