8/12/02-This
week I’m off to Kansas to follow the yellow brick road to what I
hope will be my first win of the year. Along the way I hope find some
heart, a little courage and the tin cup. I’ll be playing in the Wichita
Open and enjoying some great hospitality from Rod Jones, owner of the
fabulous Yia Yia’s Restaurant. Last year, Rod took good care of my
caddie Arkansas and myself during the tournament.
Last week in Chicago, I missed the cut by one stroke. It was a rough front nine on Friday, but I was able to shoot a strong 33 on the back nine. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough. The Buy.Com Tour cuts to only 60 players while the PGA Tour cuts to 70.
Not
only am I working to earn my PGA Tour card for next year but I am also
concentrating on my company SwingHard Golf. For
